  We were very pleased with the work completed at our home. We have been dealing with blocked sewerage pipes at least once a year.   We called them because taps in a new house were leaking and noisy. I got a verbal quote from a tradesman for what I thought was one set of new taps, new washers, and new hoses for the washing machine. But someone else came later to do the work - at the time they said, to be fair - and the new guy (who turned out to be an apprentice) did not replace taps, merely replaced 6 washers and put 2 new hoses on washing machine. For this they took 3 hours and charged the verbally quoted price of $365. When … More I queried it in an email as too high for 6 sets of washers and 2 hoses, the manager called me (at 7:31am next morning, knowing I was a pensioner) to argue the case. In the end she offered to reduce the price by around $60 and I accepted. I then got an email threatening legal action if I did not pay that day. The taps still leaked, and we called them back - after one callback lasting 5 minutes to tighten the screw fitting on the washing machine, the tradie left. After an hour the taps started leaking again. A second call brought the response that he might call in when next in the area, but we should not expect too much as we had had a reduction in the price! A month later we are still waiting. So much for "All work is guaranteed " on their invoice. Taps are still leaking, we will go elsewhere next time. My suggestion to them: put your quotes in writing and spell out what the price covers. And if you send an apprentice don't charge tradesman rates.
